OUR GOATS

NIGERIAN DWARF goats are one of the best breeds of dairy animals for a family farm. Although they do not produce as much as a large breed, they are the most efficient goat for converting feed to milk, meaning each glass you drink costs you less. In addition, the milk of Nigerian Dwarfs is said to be richer and sweeter.

Their small size has some definite advantages. Standing less than  two feet at the shoulder, they are easy to handle, even for children. Three Nigerian Dwarfs can be kept on the space required by a standard goat.

They can come in any color or pattern, with brown or blue eyes. They have good dispositions, and are calm and friendly.

Another benefit is that the Nigerian Dwarf, unlike most breeds that only go into estrus in the fall, can breed any time of year. Not only is this more convenient, it allows you to stagger the breeding, resulting in a steady year-round milk supply.
